“Gestalt’s Paradoxical Theory of Change: To become who we can be, we must first become who we are”
Reg Harris discusses the paradox within the Hero’s Journey: that in order for the hero to complete his journey, he must first journey inward and go back to his past to discover and embrace his true self, ultimately stripping delusions and reinterpreting his experiences so that he can begin to grasp his fullest potentials. Harris relates this to Gestalt Therapy.
