Today, I was speaking with a friend of mine and something I said pushed the wrong button. He exploded in anger. If you are a screenwriter, there will be numerous times where producers say something that really pisses you off. One of your jobs as a professional screenwriter is just to shut up and take it, no matter how insulting it is. In this business, the working writers are the ones who always show the attitude that the producer is always right. Just like the customer is always right, you know? The producer is the one putting out the cash. So in fact, he is the customer. And you better behave yourself whenever you get irritated by something a producer may or may not say. Why? Because everybody knows everybody in this town and you don't want to get labeled as someone who is difficult to work with. So remember, bite your lip if you want to keep your career.
