The name of the game to becoming a successful screenwriter, or a successful anything for that matter, is learning patience and discipline. You have to have the patience to learn the craft, and then the discipline to write everyday and not show your work before it's ready. Of course, you can show your work to those you trust in order to get notes and feedback. But one thing you never, ever want to do is send out your script to producers/agents/managers straight out of your printer (or Kinko's). If you learn these two very important characteristics, then you'll be one step closer to success. Until next week... |
